OABB Rocketry Project 2007-2008

Each November the Rocketry Organization of California (ROC)...

holds a three day launch at Lucerne Dry Lake in the Mojave Desert.

They launch some really big rockets there that can go up well over a mile or two

We spend an hour visiting the vendors and watching the launches...

before we break away for our own OABB launch

We set up a few launch pads for rockets with smaller engines and one for larger engines

Then spend the reset of the day launching

Sometimes you end up chasing the rocket across half the desert

And sometimes they come down right next to you!

On the way back we stop for lunch - pizza is always a favorite

Especially if the restaurant has games and bumper cars

Needless to say... everyone had a great time!
